SHŌGEKI SUMO
Shōgeki Sumo is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Sumo Wrestling as a unique blend of martial arts, sport, movement, live performance, and cultural expression.
Our mission is to break stereotypes associated with sumo wrestling in Western media and engage local communities in this ancient and fascinating art/sport. While we do host an annual tournament and compete in other tournaments as well, the majority of our team trains for competition, however some train for personal development. The burst of energy and adrenaline makes sumo as physically and mentally intense as any sport can be.
